02 Mar Illinois Tornado Relief: How You Can Help
On the evening of March 1st, 2016 there was a devastating severe weather event that affected a lot of communities in Illinois. The towns of Naplate Illinois and Ottawa Illinois were hit hard by an EF 3 tornado. Many residents were affected. You can help by donating your time or money to the local office of the American Red Cross or regional Salvation Army office. Also, check with the city of Ottawa before donating material goods. Often times material donations sent with good intentions can inundate the community with too many of the same items. We were on the ground and saw firsthand how important these organizations are in helping residents immediately after natural disasters. Below is the contact information for the regional and local offices for these organizations as well as local donation funds. Please consider donating to local funds as they will go directly to the residents.
